Most of these tracks were written to coordinate with a visual device (pictured on the cover) that Brother Jim invented while in music school. The original version of this device was called the "Kintron", and was used for music analysis among other things. It has undergone several name changes since then, including "Time Machine", but is mainly known today under the original name "Kintron".

While working with the Kintron, Brother Jim began to suspect that watching the device over time had a calming effect, slowing down ones sense of time. In 1983, it was used in a research experiment at Nova Universities Biofeedback Lab.

The study, using rigorous statistical analysis, determined that watching the Kintron activated the right brain in the research participants, leading to a significantly faster rate of recovery from startles, such as a loud noise and others, introduced during the sessions.

Most tracks will contain a link to a YouTube video where the Kintron is shown slowly moving with the music. Watching and listening will have a noticeable calming effect over time. Most of the music was specifically written to accompany the visual movement of the Kintron, however turn down the volume on the video player and play your own favorite meditative tunes.
